Assessment Your assessment for this unit of work will be broken up into 2 components. 1. An oral discussion one-on-one with the teacher answering 5 questions to show your understanding. This is worth 70% of the overall grade for the unit 'Making Laws'. The questions to answer and their marks allocations are: 1. What is a bill? (1 mark) 2. List 4 ways a bill can originate. (4 marks) 3. In which chamber do bills generally get introduced? (1 mark) 4. Who can introduce a bill? (1 mark) 5. Describe the process of making a law. (8 marks) 2. The remaining 30% of the grade will come from creating a hand-drawn flow-chart detailing the process of law making in Australia. You may present it in any format as long as it shows a clear direction from one step to the next. It must include the following: 1. Origins of a bill (1 mark) 2. Step-by-step process of how a bill becomes a law (4 marks) TREAT THE FLOW-CHART AS STUDY AND REVISION FOR THE ORAL TEST. Oral tests begin next lesson and flow-charts are due at the end of this unit of work, date to be confirmed. |
